Solo exhibition by Ellie Pritts, In the Screen I am Everything, has opened at bitforms gallery. The show features new work by the artist, created through different forms of technology, from glitch work to print.
Ellie Pritts is a transmedia artist whose practice involves technology of all kinds, drawing from nostalgia through analog forms while also utilizing AI collaboration models to generate her images. We worked with the artist to produce two prints from their Divine Recursions series for the show. The vibrant, technicolor portraits were printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Bright White, and really glowed on that media.
Divine Recursions is a project that explores Pritts' relationship to self-portraiture. In response to a neurological condition that has limited mobility in their hands, Ellie's practice evolved to incorporate new ways of image making. The resultant artworks are stitch-process abstract portraits that draw elements from photography, video, generative algorithms, and more.
The prints are displayed at bitforms among other work by the artist, notably her Glitch Fleur series.
